Serving you some spicy content.
We are committed to multiplicity and equality. We ask questions. We like to talk but we also like to listen. We stand up for everyone, just as we would for ourselves. We are independent and work with authenticity and integrity. We appreciate aesthetics as much as words. We think knowledge can be found everywhere. We have fun. We want more future. We prefer deep dives over shallow swims.
Online-Magazine for Pop-Journalism and Photography.
TEMA encourages you to leave your comfort zone.
TEMA is an international magazine aimed at Europeans and those interested in Europe. We leave the national level to expand our horizon to new stories, pictures and experiences. In order to promote exchange and broaden the way we see, read and think, we publish young authors and photographers from different European countries. The diversification of narratives is our fuel: we might be scientists, dancers or farmers, but all of us have something to tell and others to learn from.
We do pop journalism.
Pop journalism is both personal and objective. Our articles are emotional, but are definitely always factual. We do journalism that is young and fresh and uninhibited by established ways of doing things. It smashes the walls that elitist art and culture have erected around themselves and is not afraid to include pop culture in a lively and diverse discourse.
We do photography.
TEMA is not just its smart and juicy texts, but an equally important part are its beautiful images. We celebrate visual art and believe that photography adds an emotional dimension to stories that text alone won’t be able to communicate.
We question the obvious and serve some fresh food for thought.
TEMA devotes itself to one topic every two months, which is introduced through an overarching question. This allows us to offer an interdisciplinary approach and to dive deep into various discourses. We want to inspire people by questioning what often seems self-evident. For that purpose, we devote ourselves to topics that are relevant to younger generations spanning across borders. We provoke rethinking, lay open current challenges and add new perspectives.
We turn Europe upside down – with independent journalism.
We won’t milk the cash cow of questionable investor companies to stay afloat nor will we distract you from our content or aesthetic identity with advertisements.
We are convinced that our content doesn’t belong behind paywalls because it belongs to everybody. This is why we rely on the help of our readers to fund us, our team and our journalism. Pay what you want and how you want:
